Kiersten Tanopo brings passion, personality, and pure stage energy to everything she does as a National Competition Director for Kids Artistic Revue, Rainbow National Dance Competition, and the KAR Dance Convention. With a background in theater and musical theater, Kiersten’s love for performing began in middle school when she first stepped on stage—and she’s been hooked on the magic of live performance ever since.
Kiersten earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Arts from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where she sharpened her performance and leadership skills. She joined the KAR family in 2013, starting her very first season on tour working merchandise. From those early days on the road to leading major events today, her journey through the organization reflects her dedication, positivity, and love for the dance community.
Now a key leader within the KAR Productions family, Kiersten served as a lead director for the organization’s Australia tour and helps direct conventions and competitions across the country. Her commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for dancers and studios earned her the honor of Director of the Year in 2023.
Whether she’s backstage, at the judges’ table, or cheering dancers on from the wings, Kiersten brings contagious enthusiasm and theatrical spirit to every stage she touches. And when she’s not on the road making dance magic happen, you can probably find her relaxing at home with her cat, Olive.
