A LIST OF OUR AWARDS

SPIRIT AWARD: Will be presented at all Regionals and Naitonal Finals. An award chosen by our Master of Ceremonies, to be presented to the dancer who he deems to be "dancing for all the right reasons". This winner receives a Rainbow T-Shirt and award and also participates in the Pot Of Gold Fun Party!

POT OF GOLD FUN PARTY
(Sponsored by DANCER MAGAZINE Will be at all Regionals and National Finals. Our Master of Ceremonies and his Spirit Award Winner make this a fun filled event by tossing out novelty items and specialty prizes into the audience before the Awards Ceremony begins.

SUPERTALENT AWARDS
: Each participant will receive a SuperTalent Button at all Regionals and National Finals

JUDGES SPECIAL AWARDS
: Throughout the competition day, the judges make note of outstanding characteristics and/or qualities of a particular dancer or dancers that should be recognized.These winners will be presented with Special Award Ribbons at all Regionals and National Finals

REGIONAL & FINALS ADJUDICATION AWARDS
:   Each entry will be judged from a point system. High First, First, High Second, Second, Third and Fourth places will be presented based on scores.It is possible to have multiple High First, First, High Second, Second, Third and Fourth places within each age group for each performance category. Trophies will be presented for High First, First, High Second, Second, and Third places.   Fourth place will be presented with a Rosette Ribbon.  Fun, colorful buttons will be presented to all contestants.

PHOTOGENIC AWARD: Awarded to the Most Photogenic in both the Junior and Senior Divisions at all Regionals and National Finals. Junior and Senior Overall Winners will receive a custom designed award.. COSTUME AWARD: Awarded to the Best Costume in both the Junior and Senior Divisions at all Regionals and National Finals.Junior and Senior Overall Winners will receive a custom designed award.

"NEWBIE" SUPERTALENT AWARDS: This is Rainbow’s novice division for entrants with 2 years or less of training. Routines will be adjudicated at a lower point scale. STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD
:
Awards will be presented at all Regionals and National Finals. A trophy will be presented for the highest scoring Junior (12&under) Student Choreography and Senior (13&over) Student Choreography routines. STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY ENTRIES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CASH AWARDS OR HIGH POINT AWARDS.PRO/AM AWARD: Awards will be presented at all Regionals and National Finals. A trophy will be presented to the highest scoring Pro/Am Routine. PRO/AM ENTRIES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR CASH AWARDS OR HIGH POINT AWARDS.OVERALL HIGH POINT AWARDS: Awards will be presented at all Regionals and National Finals. Trophies will be given to the 8&under, Junior (9-12), Senior (13-15) and Senior (16&over) Overall High Points in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places in the Solo, Duo/Trio, Small Group, Large Group and Production categories. 6th - 10th Places in Overall High Points receive Custom Ribbons.

DANCER OF THE YEARDancer of The Year Regional Competition – Any soloist wishing to compete for this title must enter the Dancer of The Year Category.The routine selected will be judged simultaneously for adjudication and Dancer of The Year.This is a Judges’ Choice category.No predetermined criteria will be given to the judges.There may be multiple Dancer of The Year Finalists chosen at each regional. This category is held to a much higher standard. Dancer of The Year finalists will be eligible to compete in Las Vegas for the Australian Pirze and Branson, MO for the Canadian Prize at the 2005 National Finals.If selected, the Dancer of The Year Finalist will receive a beautiful gift and be invited to have their picture in the Finals and forthcoming season’s souvenir program. Dancer of The Year Finals Competition in Branson, MO- Dancer of the Year finalists will attend a “social” orientation where they will meet and enjoy the stories of the former Rainbow Connection Dancer of The Year Winners. The Dancer of The Year winner from Canada whose prize is to travel to the United States and compete in Rainbow Connection’s National Finals. The finalists will compete in the Dancer of The Year Performance. The awards presentation after the performance honors all of the participants in a formal introduction with plaques presented to each dancer.The top 5 Juniors and top 5 Seniors will receive beautiful trophies during the awards ceremony. A Junior (12&under) and Senior (13&over) dancer will be selected by a panel of 5 judges to travel to Canada to represent Rainbow Connection and the United States at the Canadian National Finals. Dancer of The Year Finals Competition in Las Vegas Nevada- Dancer of the Year finalists will attend a "social" orientation where they will meet and enjoy the stories of the former Rainbow Connection Dancer of The Year Winners. They will also meet the Director of Showcase, Peter Oxford, and the Junior and Senior Dancer of The Year winners from Australia whose prize is to travel to the United States and compete in Rainbow Connection’s National Finals.Illinois Theatrical will be in attendance providing gifts to all performers. The finalists will compete in the Dancer of The Year Performance. The awards presentation after the performance honors all of the participants in a formal introduction with plaques presented to each dancer by Illinois Theatrical. The top 5 Juniors and top 5 Seniors will receive beautiful trophies during the awards ceremony. A Junior (12&under) and Senior (13&over) dancer will be selected by a panel of 5 judges to travel to Australia to represent Rainbow Connection and the United States at the Showcase National Finals. Illinois Theatrical provides a "treasure bag" for the Junior and Senior Dancer of The Year Winners filled with dance shoes, dancewear and Gif Certificates to IT for additional merchandise.

TITLE AWARDS will be selected at both National Finals.A $25 entry fee applies.This category will be judged simultaneously with the solo performance.A trophy will be given to the following winners. FINALS OVERALL HIGH POINT CASH AWARDS will be given to the 5 Overall Highest Scores In the Following Categories: Junior Solo, Junior Duo/Trio, Junior Small Group, Junior Large Group, Junior Production, Senior Solo, Senior Duo/Trio, Senior Small Group, Senior Large Group, Senior Production.
